Save by Grace from Slavery
The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the least of all peoples; but because the LORD loves you, and because He would keep the oath which He swore to your fathers, the LORD has brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
The ways of our Lord do not change; here we see the election and salvation of a people, chosen by God, and saved from slavary. The image works for us today. It is by grace or undeserved favour through the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross at Calvery that saves the one who believes in him. We are saved from the slavery of sin which leads only to death; there was nothing in us or we could do to deserve this favour.
